PLC handbook
The PLC handbook is a public pocket field guide for architecture, scan cycles, hardware, ladder logic, PID, and industrial networking. You do not need a session to read it.
How to use it
- Open the handbook and pick a chapter pill, or use search for a term such as scan, sinking, or PID.
- Read the section against the controller you actually have. Names and menus differ by manufacturer.
- Follow the site procedure and the controller manual when they say something the handbook does not.
What it is not
The handbook is an aid for trained technicians. It is not stamped engineering, and it does not replace site procedures or the manufacturer documentation.
Field guide by Johnson Automation Group, Three Mile Creek Services, and Creekbound Services.
